Say hi to your M IN Buddy
New on M IN: a Buddy. When you join and haven't posted or joined anything yet, a Buddy waves at you and says hi, in Telugu, Tenglish, Hindi or English, whichever you use. Chat about your day, ask what's on near you, get an idea for a chai, a walk or a cricket evening, and a nudge to post it.
Buddies are M IN's own guide accounts, easy to spot by the sparkle badge on their picture. Once you're in a plan, your Buddy wishes you well and steps back; real people take it from there.

A new home, group deals at places near you, and alerts when something's on
The home screen is new. At the top is where you are: tap it to pick a city or use your location. Under that, a rounded search, then a carousel of group deals, plan ideas and offers around the city. Then Browse by activity: tap a circle and the plans below filter to it, or tap Type your own for anything that isn't there, like pickleball. One row of filters does the rest: Filters, Today, Tomorrow, This week.
Group deals. Some places now give M IN groups 5% or 10% off, sometimes a flat amount, when you go together. Make a plan at the place straight from the deal. At the bill, the host shows the plan's code, the place scans it in the M IN app and takes the discount off. Our team agrees every deal with the place before it shows up, and those places put an M IN sign up at the counter.
Offers around you. Until more places sign up, the carousel also shows offers and events our team picks from other apps and sites: EazyDiner, Nearbuy, Swiggy Dineout, Playo and event listings. Each one says where it's from and links there. They aren't M IN deals and there's no M IN code for them, so check the offer on its source before you go.
Nearby alerts, if you want them. Turn on "Plans and deals near you" and you get a notification when someone near you posts a plan or a deal goes live.
- We only use a rough area, a square about 5 km across, never your exact spot.
- Nothing between 10 pm and 8 am.
- At most one of these every two hours.
- Turn it off any time in Notifications.
The home can also show how many people near you opened M IN this week. It's always a real count, and it's hidden when the number is small.
And a few small celebrations for real moments: your first plan, someone asking to join yours, getting accepted, and a welcome once you've picked a username.

The first beta is in open testing. Try it, and get the Early Access badge
The first build of M IN is out to testers today, on iPhone through TestFlight and on Android through Google Play open testing. It is the real app: post a plan, ask to join, chat, meet.
Anyone 18 or over in South India can apply. Sign up at sayim.in/beta, and the test link comes by email, usually the same day.
Everyone who tests during the beta gets the Early Access badge on their profile. It stays after launch, and you can show it or hide it whenever you like.
It is a beta, so some things will break. Shake the phone to report, or write to support@sayim.in. We read everything.

Live location, and a pin for the meeting spot
The hardest part of any plan is the last hundred metres. "I'm at the gate." "Which gate?" So:
- Hosts can drop a pin on the plan. Not the area, the exact spot. The bench, the bandi, the second gate.
- Inside a plan chat you can share live location for 15 minutes, an hour, or until the plan ends. It switches itself off. You can switch it off sooner.
Only people in that chat can see it, and we don't keep it once the share ends. That was the whole point.

Chats are encrypted now. Also: reactions, voice notes, secret messages
Every plan chat and every private conversation is encrypted from today, in transit and in storage. M IN manages the recovery keys so your history comes back on a new phone, which means this is not end-to-end encryption: authorised M IN services can access message content.
Smaller things that landed with it:
- Long-press a message to react.
- Hold the mic to send a voice note. Slide left to cancel, like you'd expect.
- Secret messages: seen once, then gone.
- Waves. Met someone at a plan and want to say hi without joining another plan? Wave. If they wave back, you get a private chat. If they don't, nothing happens and nobody's embarrassed.

Everyone gets verified. Every photo gets looked at
Two days in and the first fake profile turned up. Expected, still annoying. So, from now:
- You verify before you can host or join anything. Verified profiles get a tick.
- Every profile and plan photo is checked before anyone else sees it. Usually minutes, sometimes an hour.
- Report a person, plan or message from the three-dots menu. A person on our side reads it. Not a bot.

M IN is live in South India. Hyderabad and Vijayawada first
It's out. iPhone and Android, starting in Hyderabad and Vijayawada, with more cities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana next, then the rest of the south.
What it is: people near you post small plans. Irani chai at Nimrah on Sunday morning. A 6-a-side at Gachibowli after work. A morning walk on Prakasam Barrage. Cricket at the IGMC Stadium grounds before it gets hot. An evening at Bhavani Island with two spots left. You ask to join, the host says yes, and you're in a chat with everyone who's going.
What it isn't: a feed, a follower count, or a place where strangers DM you.
