Safety centre

Meet new people. Don't be daft about it.

What we do on our side, what we'd ask you to do on yours, and what to press when something feels off. The actual rules are in the community guidelines.

The short version

  • Be real. Your name, your recent photos, one account. Don't host a plan you're not going to turn up to.
  • Meet in public. Cafes, parks, grounds, cinemas. Tell a friend where you're going. First meetings are never at someone's flat.
  • Respect a no. A declined request, an ignored wave, a block. None of it needs chasing or an explanation.
  • No harassment, no hate, no selling. Obvious, but written down so there's no argument later.

Never send money or an OTP in a chat. Nobody from M IN will ask for a code, a UPI transfer or a card number. If someone in a plan wants you to pay upfront, share an OTP, or move to another app to "confirm", it's a scam. Report, leave, done.

What we do

  • Verification. Everyone verifies before they can host or join. Verified profiles carry a tick. If an account gets reported, we look at it again.
  • Photo checks. Every profile and plan photo is looked at before anyone else sees it. Anything that breaks the rules never goes up.
  • A person reads every report. Not a queue, not a bot. We acknowledge within 24 hours and sort it within 15 days, usually the same day. We look at the account and the pattern, not just the one message.
  • Blocks are silent. The other person isn't told. They can't see your profile or plans, can't message you, can't join a plan you're in. Unblock any time from You → Privacy.
  • Chats are encrypted. We can't read them. When you report a message, your phone sends us that one message, with your consent, so we have something to act on.
  • Live location is temporary. Only people in that plan chat see it, it stops by itself, and we don't keep it.

How to report

It takes a few seconds and the other person isn't told who reported them.

  • A person: their profile → three dots → Report. You can block at the same time.
  • A plan: the plan → three dots → Report plan.
  • A message: long-press it → Report. The message comes with the report.
  • Anything else: shake your phone anywhere in the app, or go to You → Help & support.
  • By email: support@sayim.in. Our Grievance Officer and the legal timelines are on the guidelines page.

If someone is in danger right now, call 112 first. Tell us after, so we can deal with the account.

Meeting up, sensibly

  • Look at the host's profile and the tick before you ask to join.
  • Keep the conversation in the plan chat until you've met. Phone numbers can wait.
  • Get there and back on your own. Don't take a lift from someone you're meeting for the first time.
  • Use the pin and live location on the day, and stop sharing once you've found each other.
  • If it feels wrong, leave. You don't owe anyone a reason.
