Delete your account

Leaving is one screen.

Deleting your M IN account deletes your data with it. You don't have to ask us, explain yourself, or install anything to do it — but if you can't get into the app, this page is the other way in.

In the app (fastest)

You → Account → Delete account. It asks once, then it's done: your profile, username and number come off immediately and the rest is cleared out behind you, normally within minutes.

Without the app

Lost your phone, uninstalled already, or can't sign in? Use the form below, or write to support@sayim.in. We check you own the address, then delete the account for you.

The short version

  • Deleting is permanent. There is no undo and no restore, so please be sure.
  • Your profile, photo, phone number, plans, requests, hi-fives, app settings and support history go.
  • What we keep is narrow and listed below: safety reports, and other people's copies of their own chats.
  • Nothing is held back as a "grace period" — deletion starts the moment you confirm. Backups age out within 30 days.
  • Asking by email takes longer only because we have to check it's really you. We acknowledge within 24 hours.

What gets deleted

  • Your account. The sign-in itself, so nobody can ever sign in as you again. Passkeys, two-factor secrets, recovery codes and remembered devices with it.
  • Who you are. Profile, username (freed for someone else), bio, city, date of birth, and your profile photo file.
  • Your phone number. It was only ever stored for you, never shown to anyone. It is the first thing to go.
  • Your plans. Plans and posts nobody joined, every plan photo you uploaded, every join request you sent, and your place in every plan you joined.
  • Your chats, on our side. Your encryption keys, your read markers, your "typing" and live-location shares, and every photo, video, voice note and file you sent — the files themselves, deleted from storage.
  • Hi-fives you sent and received.
  • Everything the app learned. Feed preferences, chat settings, notification tokens, age check, meetup and reliability counts, any appeal you filed, security alert history.
  • Your support tickets and anything you attached to them — screenshots, logs, device details.

What we keep, and why

This is the whole list. Nothing here can be used to contact you or to build a profile of you, and none of it is readable by anyone using M IN.

Safety reports
Reports naming you, and reports you made about other people, are kept. Someone cannot erase the complaints against them by deleting their account, and a report you filed may be about a person who is still here and still being investigated. Tickets you sent us about someone's safety are kept the same way, with your name, email and attachments stripped off them.
Other people's chats
Messages you sent are part of someone else's conversation, and they're end-to-end encrypted — we can't read them and we can't pick yours out of them. So the words stay in their thread, with your name replaced by "Deleted account". Anything you sent as a file is removed and shows as a deleted message.
Plans other people joined
If you hosted a plan someone joined, the plan stays so it doesn't vanish out of their history. Upcoming ones are cancelled, and your name and photo come off it.
A record that you asked
One line saying an account with your ID was deleted, and when. No name, no email, no number. It's how we can prove the deletion happened.

Full detail, including how long backups live and who we share data with, is in the privacy policy. Rentuku Technologies LLC is the data fiduciary; our Grievance Officer is reachable at support@sayim.in.

Ask us to delete your account

For when you can't use the app. Give us the email address on the account — we'll write back to it to check it's yours before anything is deleted.

We reply to every request within 24 hours. Deletion is permanent. If you'd rather just write to a person: support@sayim.in.

Questions people ask first

Can I get my account back?

No. Deleting is final — there is no restore and no support override. You can sign up again with the same email, but it's a new account: no plans, no chats, no history, and your old username may have been taken by then.

How long does it take?

From the app, your profile and number are gone before the screen closes, and the rest normally finishes within minutes. Encrypted backups age out within 30 days. By email, add the time it takes us to check the address is yours.

Will the people I chatted with know?

They'll see the conversation is with a deleted account instead of your name. They are not told when or why.

I only want my photo (or my number) gone.

You don't need to delete the account for that. Change or remove your photo and your phone number in You → Edit profile, and the old file is deleted.

Someone else asked you to delete my account.

They can't. We only act on a request from the address on the account, and we always write to that address first.
